My gutter nozzle hack saved me 200 bucks on a leaf blower

My downspouts clogged like clockwork every fall, so I taped a PVC elbow to my shop vacuum hose and it cleared them right from the ground. Anyone else rig up a weird tool combo like this or am I the only one who avoids the ladder at all costs?

Hold on, I gotta disagree with you there. A shop vac with a taped on elbow sounds like a mess waiting to happen, especially if you hit a really packed spot. The wet leaves and gunk will just clog the hose and then you're dragging a heavy vac up the ladder anyway to unstick it. I've seen guys try this and end up with water spraying back in their face when the tape gives out halfway up the downspout. Plus, that vacuum motor is not made for pulling water, you're risking burning it out for a 20 dollar fix. Just bite the bullet and get a cheap drain snake or a pressure washer attachment, it's way less hassle than wrestling with a rigged setup.
