Is Lakewood getting too crowded for its own good or is that just me?
I swear I remember 10 years ago when I could walk into Deagan's on a Friday night and actually get a table, now it's a 45 minute wait even on a Tuesday. Meanwhile they're building those new apartment complexes on Detroit like there's no tomorrow, but nobody's widening the roads or adding parking. Am I the only one who thinks we're trading neighborhood charm for density too fast, or is this just what a popular westshore suburb has to look like in 2024?

Man, you hit the nail on the head but I think people are missing the real problem. It's not just the apartments or the restaurants filling up, it's that nobody talks about how the sewers and water lines are still from like the 1960s. I've got a buddy who works for the city and he says the infrastructure down there is barely hanging on. They're stacking people on top of each other but nobody's digging up those old pipes. That's gonna bite us hard one of these days, mark my words.

Honestly, the idea of 60-year-old pipes holding up all that new construction makes me feel like I'm living in a Jenga tower with a weak base. Ngl, I've stopped flushing my toilet during peak hours just out of pure paranoia, which is both sad and pretty stupid. Tbh, when that infrastructure finally gives out, we're all gonna be swimming in a problem nobody wants to talk about.
