I was totally against garage sale shopping until I hit Westlake last Saturday
I used to be one of those people who thought garage sales were just other people's junk (you know, dusty lamps and old Tupperware). But my friend Karen dragged me to a neighborhood sale in Westlake last weekend, and I found a nearly new KitchenAid mixer for $40 that would've cost $300 at the store. Now I'm actually planning my Saturday mornings around the estate sales in Bay Village and Rocky River. Has anyone else had a killer find at a local garage sale that changed their mind about thrifting?

Oh honey, I gotta gently point out that Westlake is actually in Cuyahoga County, same as Bay Village and Rocky River! I used to mix them up too until I moved out here. But you're right about those KitchenAid finds - I snagged a vintage one from a garage sale in Avon Lake two summers ago for $35 and it still works like a charm. Those suburbs west of Cleveland are absolute goldmines for good stuff on Saturday mornings, just watch out for the ones that say "estate sale" but are really just overpriced junk from a flipper.

Ngl I think people get way too territorial about county lines around here. Like is anyone really gonna get their day ruined because they thought Westlake was in Lorain County for a second? That 35 dollar KitchenAid find though is legit killer, I'm still mad I paid 80 for mine at a church rummage sale in Strongsville and the thing shakes like a washing machine on spin cycle.
