Crocker Park traffic study made me change my mind about the roundabouts

I used to hate those roundabouts at Crocker Park. Felt like everyone was cutting me off. Then I saw a traffic study from the city that said accidents dropped by 47% since they installed them. Saw it on the Westlake city website last week. I guess slowing people down actually works. Has anyone else noticed a difference driving through there?

Yeah I keep seeing that 47% number thrown around and I really think its cherry picked. For one thing the study only looked at a short time period right after they installed them when everyone was driving super careful. Drive through there at 5pm on a Friday and tell me its safer. I've seen more near misses in those roundabouts than I ever saw at the old stoplights. And lets be real the accidents might be down but nobody counted how many people just avoid going there altogether now. I know I do. The old lights worked fine if people actually paid attention instead of texting.

I'm the queen of nearly missing exits so those roundabouts definitely keep me on my toes, but I'll take a near miss over a real crash any day. That 47% number sounds good, but I'd believe it more if they studied it during rush hour when everyone's rage-texting their boss. Guess I'm just a sucker for anything that makes me look slightly less reckless behind the wheel.
