Wasted $150 on a cheap rotary brush kit for chimney cleaning

I bought one of those generic rotary brush kits off Amazon for about $150 thinking I was saving money over a proper drill-powered system from a supply house. The rods bent on the third use and the brush head stripped all its bristles inside a customer's flue. Took me two extra hours to clean that mess out. Anyone else get burned by cheap online cleaning gear?

Didn't you try tightening the chuck on the drill first? I used to think people just wanted to flex on the expensive brands but after my second rod bent I finally got it.

People skip the basic stuff every time. Tighten the chuck, check the bit, make sure the material is clamped down. Same thing with fixing a car. Everyone wants to jump to the expensive parts without checking the simple stuff first. My buddy spent two weeks chasing an engine code. Turned out it was just a loose gas cap. Life is full of that pattern. You gotta crawl before you walk but nobody wants to hear it.

For real, chuck tightness is the first thing everyone overlooks lol
