Tuesday almost broke me, so did Thursday, but Friday paid for it all

This past week was a rollercoaster in the worst and best way. Tuesday I showed up to a house in Medford and the homeowner had a pellet stove insert that had not been touched in 4 years. The ash was packed so hard I had to chip at it with a hand scraper for 2 hours, and my back was screaming. Then Thursday I got called to a job where the liner was completely blocked with bird nest material and I had to pull the whole thing apart just to find the sweep cap had been crushed. But Friday I hit a run of three clean, easy chimneys with no creosote buildup and one guy tipped me 60 bucks cash on top of the bill. The bad days make the good ones feel earned, I guess. Does anyone else keep a log of how long each job actually takes so you can spot which clients are worth keeping?

Man, that 60 bucks is just the universe apologizing for Tuesday, huh?
