The day I finally fixed my draft problem with a mirror
Been sweeping for 14 years, mostly old brick chimneys in Ohio, and last month I did a job where the homeowner kept saying smoke poured back into the living room no matter what I did. I re-swept, checked the cap, even ran a second brush pass, then the guy hands me a bathroom mirror and says "look up the flue while I hold a candle at the bottom." Turns out the liner had a gap behind a loose brick that I never spotted from below, and my headlamp was making it look solid the whole time. You guys ever use a mirror trick on inspection, or did I just miss the obvious for a decade?
