My 24 foot ladder slipped off a slate roof in Salem and I broke my wrist catching it
Two Saturdays back I was finishing a stove pipe job in Salem and my ladder feet slid right off the slate gutter, no ladder mitts on, rookie move. I grabbed the rung on the way down and snapped my left wrist instead of my neck, so I guess that is a win. ER bill came to $2,400 after insurance and I am out of work for 6 weeks. I ordered a $40 pair of ladder standoff arms the next morning and I want to know what you all use on slate and metal roofs.
