Bought a $200 rotary brush kit for my flue that didn't work at all on my first job

I dropped 200 bucks on that fancy spinning rod set from the supply house, spent 45 minutes fighting it on Mrs. Kline's chimney, and it just snapped the cable when I hit a bird nest, anyone else gotten burned by one of those gimmick kits?

Yeah those rotary kits are total junk.

Did you try one of those cheap universal kits too? I bought one off Amazon last year and the seals started leaking after maybe two months. The bushings felt like they were made of play-doh right out of the box. Total waste of $40 and a whole Saturday afternoon.
