Spent $150 on a set of fancy silicone tongs that melted on the flat top within 2 weeks

The packaging said heat resistant up to 600 degrees but they warped and bubbled on my flattop at the diner on a busy Saturday, so has anyone found silicone tools that actually hold up or should I just stick with metal?

Bro that 600 degrees thing is usually for dry heat in an oven not direct contact with a hot surface like a flattop. Silicone cant handle that kind of direct heat transfer no matter what the box says.

right? that's just how it goes with all kinds of stuff now. like how they rate shoes for hiking but they're basically useless on real rocks. marketing numbers are always in perfect lab conditions not real life.
