Hit 500 covers on a slow Tuesday night... didn't see that coming

I was running expo at The Gilded Onion in Portland last week and we did 500 covers on a random Tuesday. I always figured the weekend rush would be our biggest numbers, but a local theater let out early and a food blogger posted about our special. It made me realize how much outside things can swing a service. Has anyone else had a random night that just exploded out of nowhere?

Wait, a food blogger? On a Tuesday? That's wild. 500 covers is insane for a random night no matter what, but a single blog post did that? I've seen Yelp do weird stuff but never a blogger hitting like that. Sounds like you guys got real lucky with that timing.

Totally agree, we had a similar thing happen with a mommy blogger and it was absolute chaos for like a week straight.
