Found out my stock pot holds exactly 14 quarts...

I always guessed it was around 12 quarts but I measured it today after a recipe called for a precise amount. Has anyone else ever just eyeballed their pot sizes and ended up way off?

Did you figure that out by filling it with water and pouring it into a measuring cup? That's a smart way to check, I probably would have just kept guessing wrong forever.

I've done that water trick before with a weird shaped vase I had... it actually works pretty well. I was so proud of myself when I figured it out, felt like a genius for five minutes. It's one of those things that seems obvious after you do it but nobody tells you about it.
