Can we talk about the $4 duck feeding date at the Bend river trail that turned into a full on swan standoff

Went to the river trail in Bend last Saturday with my girlfriend and a $4 bag of oats from the feed store, planning a cute cheap picnic. About ten minutes in, a swan the size of a mini fridge waddled straight at us and started hissing like a broken tea kettle. My girlfriend screamed, threw the whole bag of oats at it, and we watched two ducks and that swan fight over breakfast while we sat on a bench eating the sad granola bars we brought as backup. Total damage was 4 bucks and my dignity, but honestly it was the most memorable date we have had in months. Has anyone else had a free outdoor date get hijacked by an animal, and did you stay or bail?
