Vent: That overpriced cat book at the fancy bookstore in Portland

I went to Powell's Books last weekend and found this huge coffee table book called something like 'Cats of Paris' for $75. It was just 80 pages of blurry street cats near dumpsters with some artsy filter on them. My cat looks better than those photos and I took them on my phone. I can't be the only one who thinks these books are a total rip off sometimes, right?

My friend dropped like $60 on a "vintage" cat photo book at some boutique and it turned out all the photos were just of this one guy's cat that looked exactly the same in every shot. She was so mad she used it as a doorstop.

Wait until she finds out there's a whole genre of those books now. I mean, it's basically a money grab at this point. You can find the exact same concept on Instagram for free. Just search "my cat looks the same in every picture" and you'll get like 50 pages of content. Honestly, your friend should have flipped through the whole thing before buying. But I get it, sometimes you just see a vintage cat book and your brain goes "I need this" without thinking. At least she gave it a second life as a doorstop instead of just tossing it in the trash.
