Tried stacking my three cat coffee table books by color and now the shelf looks worse
I spent a Sunday afternoon rearranging my living room shelf in Portland so my three cat coffee table books sat by spine color, black then gray then orange, thinking it would look like one of those tidy bookstagram photos. Instead the big orange one, a fat hardcover of cat portraits, rolled forward and slid off the edge twice, and I realized the books only look good when they're fanned open to a page with a cat mid-yawn. So now I leave them open at random pages, which means my shelf looks messy on purpose, and honestly my guests keep flipping through them, so has anyone else ditched the neat stack for the open book look?
