TIL I was displaying cat books wrong for years
I used to stack all my cat coffee table books flat on top of each other because I thought it looked cleaner. Last month at a friend's place in Austin, she had her copy of "Cats in Sunbeams" angled on a stand and I realized I've been hiding the covers this whole time. Now I display them upright and people actually stop to flip through them. Anyone else change how they show off their collection?

Oh man, that's such a good point about hiding the covers... I did the exact same thing for like five years with my nature photography books. I had this big stack of them on my coffee table and thought it looked so neat and tidy. But you're right, people never flipped through them because they couldn't even see what was inside. Now I lean one against a little metal book stand I found at a thrift store and swap it out every few weeks. It's wild how something so simple changes the whole room, makes it feel alive instead of just decorative.

That book stand idea sounds like a total win. I've been doing the same with my record collection lately, had them all lined up on a shelf so you just saw the spines. Now I flip one out front each week and it totally changes the vibe. People actually stop and look at the album art now, which never happened before. Do you find yourself swapping your book out more often than every few weeks, or is that the sweet spot?
