That lady at the used bookstore who judged me for buying 'Cats in Art'
I was at Powell's in Portland last Saturday grabbing a vintage copy of Cats in Art and the clerk goes 'oh, one of those people.' She actually sneered at me. I just wanted a book with old paintings of cats, why do people have to make it weird? Has anyone else gotten side-eye for their cat book habit?

You're quoting "oh, one of those people" like it's a bad thing, but honestly she was probably just calling it like she saw it. Buying Cats in Art is fine on its own, but you have to admit that whole genre of cat art books is pretty specific. I mean think about it, how many people buy that book for legit art history reasons versus how many are just weird cat people? The clerk sees hundreds of people a day and she's got a pretty good read on who's who. Getting defensive about it makes it seem like you know exactly what she meant and it stung a little.
