Finally hit 100 cat books in my collection and I'm kinda surprised by what happened
I always said I'd never be one of those people with a massive cat book collection. I figured I'd grab a couple funny ones and call it done. But last weekend I was organizing my shelves and counted exactly 100 cat coffee table books. I didn't even realize I had that many. What changed my mind was finding this beat up 1980s book called 'Cats in Windows' at a garage sale for 2 bucks. I bought it as a joke but the photos were actually charming in a weird way. Now I'm hunting down all the obscure cat photography books from the 70s and 80s. Has anyone else crossed a milestone they didn't see coming?

That's the thing though, people go hard on their niche collections and I'm always surprised how big they get. I used to think my aunt was joking when she said she had like 40 cookbooks, but then I went to her house and there was a whole shelf just for bread books. It's like once you start collecting something specific, you just can't stop. Cats, bread, probably even something weird like toaster cozies or whatever. The brain just decides it wants the whole set.
