Appreciation post: my $8 library sale cat book beat the $45 one I got at a museum gift shop
Last Saturday I grabbed a worn copy of "Cats in Art" for $8 at a library sale in Pasadena, mostly because the cover had a chunky orange tabby on it. I also own a $45 hardcover from a museum gift shop that is all glossy photos of famous paintings with cats in the corner, and honestly the cheap one is way more fun to flip through with people. The library book has weird old ads, poems, and little facts about why painters stuck cats in their work, so guests actually pick it up instead of just nodding at it. Has anyone else found a beat up secondhand cat book that beats the fancy new ones?
