Talked to my grandma about her old cat last week and it hit me different
She was telling me about this stray she took in back in 1987, and how it would sit on the phone book every time it rang, like it knew. Made me realize all the little weird things my current cat does probably have some deeper reason I'm just missing. Anyone else have an older relative share something about their cat that made you look at yours differently?

That bit about the phone book really stuck with me. My dad told me once how their barn cat would always sit on the Sunday newspaper before anyone could read it, like it was guarding the news. Now I catch my own cat doing the same thing with my laptop when I'm trying to work. Makes you wonder if they know we're missing something important and they're just trying to get our attention. You ever notice your cat picking a specific object to sit on that just seems too specific?

Wait, 1987?! That's wild, my grandma had a cat that did the exact same thing with the phone book back in the 90s. I always thought it was just her cat being weird, but now I'm genuinely creeped out thinking about it. She swore the cat would only sit on it when my grandpa was about to call from work, like it was trying to beat the ring. It's almost like cats have this sixth sense for technology or something, I don't know.

That phone book thing is so specific it's hard to just call it a coincidence. You might want to start keeping a simple log of where your cat sits and what happens right after, like if someone walks in or a noise happens. It sounds silly but patterns show up way faster when you write them down. Also try watching your cat's ears and tail when they pick a spot, those give away what they're sensing. I started doing this after my cat kept sitting on my keys right before I had to leave and it turned out she was picking up on my morning routine.
