Picked slow blink over treats to calm a hissy foster cat

Honestly, instead of reaching for the churu tube, I tried just sitting sideways and doing the slow blink routine for 5 minutes straight with this feral tabby in Phoenix. She went from flat-eared hissing to flopping over for belly scratches, which I never got with my old treat-first approach. Has anyone else found the blink trick works better than food for a scared cat?
