My vet said cats don't get jealous, but my cat begs to differ

I brought my new kitten home about 3 weeks ago, and my 4 year old tabby Milo has been acting totally different. He started peeing on my bed every single night, which he never did before. My vet said cats don't actually feel jealousy, it's more about territory and resource guarding. But last Tuesday I caught Milo sitting directly on top of the kitten's food bowl, staring at me with this look that felt personal. Has anyone else seen this kind of behavior after adding a second cat, and do you think it's jealousy or something else entirely?
