My cat stopped biting me when I quit free feeding her, and I don't care what the vet tech says
Everyone online kept telling me to just get a second cat or play with her more, but the biting kept happening every single evening around 7pm. I switched from leaving dry food out all day to two timed meals, 7am and 6pm, and within about 10 days the ankle attacks basically stopped. My theory is she wasn't bored, she was hungry and wired up from grazing all day with no real hunt and eat cycle. The rescue lady who warned me this would make her "food obsessed" was wrong, she's calmer now than she's been in the 2 years I've had her. Has anyone else had a biter turn around just from changing WHEN they eat?
Same thing happened with my boy. He used to ambush my feet every night until I put him on two set meals instead of leaving kibble out, and the biting stopped in like a week. That rescue lady was way off, mine's not food crazy at all now, just actually hungry at mealtime instead of snacking all day.
