My cat spent 45 minutes staring at a blank wall today
My 4 year old tabby, Milo, sat in front of the same empty corner for almost an hour this morning. He would occasionally twitch his tail and make that weird chirping noise, but there was literally nothing there. I even got up and checked for bugs or a draft, nothing. He only stopped when I opened a can of tuna in the kitchen. Has anyone else had a cat fixate on a random spot for that long without any obvious cause? I'm wondering if it's a health thing or just his weird quirk.
Right around 22 minutes in my cat did the same thing and I found a tiny spider web that was basically invisible unless you were cat height. Honestly though, they just zone out sometimes. Their brains don't work like ours, they process sounds and smells we can't even detect. Milo probably heard something in the wall or was tracking a dust particle you couldn't see. Tuna fix solves it every time anyway, so I wouldn't stress about it unless he stops eating or acting normal. Cats are weird, that's part of the deal.
