My cat spent 4 straight hours staring at a blank wall last Tuesday
I came home from work around 6pm and my cat Milo was sitting maybe 2 feet from the living room wall just staring. He didn't move when I walked in or when I opened a can of wet food. He stayed there until almost 10pm, only pausing once to blink slowly. I checked for bugs or a mouse hole but found nothing. Is this just a normal cat ghost thing or should I be worried about some kind of seizure behavior? Has anyone else dealt with this kind of intense wall staring that lasted for hours?

Hold up, did you check if there's a mouse or something in the wall? I read somewhere that cats can hear rodents moving around inside walls, and they'll just lock onto the spot for hours waiting for it to come out. @ryanh77 had a good point about recording it for the vet, but honestly my old cat used to do this exact thing and it was just a mouse living in the attic crawl space. Maybe try tapping on the wall near where he was staring and see if he reacts. If he does it again and keeps ignoring food for that long, I'd probably call the vet just to be safe but I bet it's nothing.

You mentioned "intense wall staring that lasted for hours" and honestly I gotta push back a little on the seizure worry. Cats zone out like that sometimes, especially if they hear something in the wall we can't catch. Ours will lock onto a spot for a good hour if a mouse is scratching behind the drywall. But four hours with no breaks and ignoring food? That does seem extreme. I'd keep an eye on if he does it again and maybe record it for the vet, but I bet he was just hyper focused on some tiny sound or bug you couldn't see.
