My cat literally spent 3 days hiding under the bed for no reason

Last Tuesday my tabby Oscar decided the closet was too scary and hid under the bed for 72 hours straight, only coming out at 2 AM to eat and do his business. He ignored every toy, treat, and even his favorite chicken flavored wet food during the day. Is this just a normal cat mood swing or should I be worried about something stressing him out?

The first 48 hours I thought Oscar was just being dramatic, but by day three I was literally googling "cat depression vs cat being a weirdo" and crying into my coffee lmao. Turns out I had moved a cardboard box from the living room to the recycling bin and he took it as a personal betrayal. 72 more hours of silent treatment and he was back to normal. Cats are just tiny furry divas with zero emotional regulation.
