My cat finally stopped attacking my ankles when I walk to the kitchen

For about six months, my cat Gus would ambush my feet every single time I went to get a snack after 9 PM. I read that playing with a wand toy for ten minutes right before bed can help, so I tried it last Tuesday. Now he just watches me from the couch, so what changed in his little brain?

Heard that playtime can redirect their hunting instinct... so maybe he got his fix.

Totally, that pre-bed play session is like a reset button (mine does the same thing).

Wait, did you say RESET button? Three o'clock in the morning, every single night for two weeks straight, my cat would yowl until I got up and threw a crumpled receipt across the room. That's not a reset, that's a full system restore with a virus scan attached. I honestly thought it was just my cat that needed to hunt that crumpled paper ghost before she could even think about sleep. Hearing you say yours does the same exact thing is kind of blowing my mind right now.
