I spent 9 months thinking my cat was lazy before a vet told me he has hypothyroidism.
He just slept 20 hours a day and I thought it was normal for a 6 year old tabby, but after a $200 blood test it turned out his thyroid was basically dead, has anyone else had a cat that was secretly sick and you just thought they were chill?

That $200 blood test must have stung, but at least you caught it. My neighbor's 8 year old Persian was the same way, just slept on the couch nonstop and we all called her "the queen" until she lost half her fur and turned out her kidneys were failing. Did the vet give you a timeline for how long the thyroid meds take to kick in and get your cat's energy back up?
