I finally gave up on keeping my cat off the counter after 8 months of trying
I used to think I could train my cat to stay off the kitchen counters with just a spray bottle and some stern 'no's. After 8 months of daily battles where he'd jump up the second I turned my back, I realized he just didn't care about my rules. What convinced me to stop was watching him calmly knock a full bag of bread crumbs onto the floor while maintaining eye contact with me (total power move). Now I just wipe down the counters before cooking and call it a truce. Has anyone else just surrendered to a specific cat behavior?
