Guys, check your cat's water bowl placement before it's too late
I read on a vet forum that cats won't drink if their bowl is within 3 feet of their litter box, it triggers a survival instinct. My cat was getting dehydrated and I had no idea, moved the bowl to the kitchen last week and she's drinking twice as much. Has anyone else's cat ignored water for this reason?

Ngl, three feet sounds wild but I believe it. Cats are basically tiny wild animals with a food bowl, and their instincts are no joke. My old cat used to park himself right next to his water dish and stare at it like it was a trap, and I never figured out why until now. That survival instinct thing explains so much, because he'd only drink from the bathroom sink or my glass on the nightstand. Moving the bowl to the kitchen seems like such a simple fix, but honestly it makes total sense they'd avoid anything near their bathroom area.
