Caught my cat staring at a blank wall for 20 minutes straight yesterday

He was sitting on the living room rug around 3pm just locked onto this one spot on the wall. No fly, no spider, just old paint. Has anyone else's cat done the wall-gazing thing and figured out what they're actually looking at?

Oh I don't know, I think people read way too much into cat behavior. They're basically little predators with nothing to hunt all day, staring at a spot on the wall is probably just their brain going into standby mode. Mine does the same thing and I'm pretty sure he's just zoning out like a broken Roomba.
