Cat tail language surprised me, 32 different signals according to a Madison vet
I always thought a wagging tail meant my cat was happy, but I read on a vet clinic blog in Madison that a fast tail flick actually means she's annoyed. The article said cats use about 32 different tail signals, and a slow blink is a better sign of trust than a wag. Now I watch her tail before I pick her up, and it's saved me a few scratches. Has anyone else noticed their cat's tail doing something totally different from what they expected?
