Why does nobody talk about how easy it is to overpack liquids in a carry on
Last month at Newark airport I got flagged and had to toss a full bottle of sunscreen because my 3-1-1 bag was crammed too tight and the TSA agent said the bag has to close fully or it's a no go, has anyone else gotten burned by that rule mid trip?

@hugog43 Yeah that's exactly what happened. The agent said the bag has to close completely or they can make you toss stuff. Common rule nobody warns you about until you're at the gate sweating over a $40 sunscreen. I watched people in front of me cramming their liquids in ziplocs that barely sealed and they got waved through anyway.
