Wasted $45 on packing cubes that didn't fit my bag

Bought a trendy set of packing cubes after seeing them on social media, but they were too tall for my 20-inch roller - barely closed the zipper. Ended up leaving one cube behind at the hotel. Anyone else measure their bag first before buying organizers?

Wasted $45 on packing cubes" yeah that stings. I learned the same lesson the hard way after buying a set that was basically one size too tall for any normal carry on. Now I just buy the cheap mesh ones from the drugstore and they flatten down enough to work in any bag.

Oh man, @abbyl49 I feel your pain! But here's something nobody talks about - those cheap packing cubes actually work better for one bag travel because you can squish them into weird shaped gaps in your bag. My fancy Eagle Creek ones are too rigid and waste space, but the $5 mesh ones from Walmart mold around my shoes and toiletries bag perfectly. Plus if they rip on a trip I don't even care, just grab another set for pocket change.
