I was booking a Ryanair flight to Dublin last month and noticed their free carry-on limit is actually 10 kg, not the 7 kg I assumed for most budget airlines. I've been packing for years with a 40L bag that hits around 8 kg full, so I thought I was safe. But after weighing it at home, my usual setup came in at 10.4 kg because of my toiletries kit and a laptop charger. Anyone else hit this weird weight ceiling with budget carriers, and do you trim gear or just pay the fee?
