Switched from packing cubes to just using ziploc bags after a trip to NYC last month

I was all about those fancy Eagle Creek cubes but realized I could fit an extra pair of jeans and two shirts using quart-sized freezer bags instead because they compress way more when you squeeze the air out. Has anyone else gone back to the cheap zip bag method for tighter packing?

Admit I was totally a packing cube snob before. Thought the ziploc thing was so tacky. But I tried it on a weekend trip to DC and honestly I'm never going back. The way you can smoosh all the air out of those freezer bags is magic, seriously frees up so much room. You've definitely converted me, I'm buying a box of quart bags right now.

Right there with you. I used to be the person who bought a different set of packing cubes for every trip thinking my life would finally be together. Now I'm the weirdo at the airport squeezing the air out of a gallon bag of socks like it's a life or death situation. It's a total clown show but hey my t-shirts don't have crease lines anymore so who's really winning here. The freezer bag thing is next level though those regular ziplocs are flimsy trash in comparison.
