Picked a compression cube over a packing folder for a 3 week trip to Japan

I was stuck between a compression cube and one of those folder things for my clothes. Went with the cube because I figured squishing everything down would save more space. Worked okay for t-shirts and socks, but my button-up shirts came out looking like I slept in them. Anyone else had this problem with compression cubes wrinkling stuff?

I read somewhere that folding shirts around a piece of cardboard keeps them from wrinkling in those cubes. Might work better for the button-ups.

Seems like a lot of effort just to avoid a few wrinkles.
