Packing cubes used to be my go-to but I swapped them out for ziplocs on a trip to Denver

Ngl I thought I'd look like a mess but the gallon bags actually saved space and I could squish them into weird gaps in my bag. Has anyone else ditched fancy organizers for something cheaper?

Man I was skeptical too but my buddy Dan swears by the ziploc method now. He went to Yellowstone last summer and stuffed gallon bags of clothes into every nook of his backpack, even crammed one between his tent poles and his sleeping bag. Said he fit a three day trip into a bag he usually uses for weekends. Only downside was he forgot which bag had his socks and grabbed the one with dirty underwear by mistake at the campsite. He learned real quick to label them with a sharpie.

Yeah @wyatt513, your buddy's story is funny but the real trick is compression not just cramming. Ziploc bags work because they let you squeeze ALL the air out so clothes take up way less space, not because you're just shoving them into gaps. Your pal is doing it right though, labeling with a sharpie is ESSENTIAL or you're asking for trouble.
