Packing cubes felt like a gimmick till I hit 14 days in Japan

I laughed at my buddy for bringing them on a 2 week trip through Tokyo and Kyoto, but after living out of one 40L bag for that stretch, the compression ones saved me from digging through a wrinkled mess every morning. Anyone else sworn these off then caved after a long trip?

Oh man, same here! I swore packing cubes were just another way to make people buy stuff they don't need. Then I did a 10 day trip through SE Asia and my whole bag was chaos by day three. The compression ones with the zippers that squish everything down, those are the real deal. I could fit twice as much and actually find my clean socks without unrolling every shirt. Now I tell everyone they're dumb like I did, but I know deep down they're game changers.
