Packing cubes are not the answer for Rome's cobblestones
I just got back from 5 days in Rome and everyone online swears by packing cubes for organization. But honestly, dragging a 7kg roller bag over those cobblestones near the Colosseum was rough, and cubes added zero help when I had to dig out layers at the Vatican. A simple backpack with 3 compression straps worked better for me, and I only used half the space. Has anyone else ditched cubes after a trip with bad pavement and just gone with rolled clothes and ziplocks?
