Packed for a 5-day work trip to Dallas with just a 28L backpack

Always struggled with dress shirts getting wrecked. Rolled them around a cardboard tube from a paper towel roll. No iron needed, just hung them up at the hotel. Anyone have a better trick for keeping collars crisp?

Cardboard tube? That's some MacGyver level packing.

Ever wonder what else you can pack in a tube like that? @victor_lane60 is onto something. I've seen people ship posters without a crease for years. But you could also roll up a bunch of t-shirts or a thin blanket to save space. It's all about using what you have.

That's the thing about packing hacks, you hear about a trick years later and realize how much simpler life could have been. @victor_lane60 MacGyver is exactly right, it's about using everyday stuff in a smart way. Read somewhere that flight attendants use the tube trick for their uniform shirts, and they're the pros at living out of a bag. The key is rolling it tight enough so the cardboard doesn't crush, but loose enough so the shirt doesn't get creased. I've tried it with a few button-downs and it works way better than folding, especially for the collar. Just wish I'd known about this before my last few trips where I ended up steaming shirts with the hotel shower...
