Hotel bathrooms in Tokyo made me rethink my whole packing system
I was in Tokyo last month for a week and every hotel room had these tiny sinks and no counter space at all. Had to lay my toiletries out on the bed just to get ready in the morning. Made me wonder how do you folks handle your grooming kit when you're stuck with zero surfaces to work on?

Bed becomes the bathroom, that's just how it goes now. I ended up doing my whole routine balanced on the toilet lid with everything laid out on the floor in a line like I was setting up a tiny army. The sink is basically a decoration over there, good for washing your hands if you don't mind splashing your shirt. My real move now is just bringing less stuff, and whatever I do bring gets dumped into one of those hanging toiletry bags that hooks over the door. The bag itself does the work, no counters needed. Still feels weird brushing my teeth staring at a toilet, but whatever works.

Used to carry one of those big dopp kits with everything in it, but after Tokyo I switched to a flat pouch and a wall hook. Your mileage may vary but that counter space shortage really changed how I pack now.
