Hit 25 trips with just a carry-on and finally got the hang of it

Honestly, it took me 25 separate trips over the last 2 years to really figure out carry-on only packing. I used to be that person lugging a giant checked bag everywhere, but after a trip to Portland last spring where my bag got lost for 3 days, I swore off checking anything. The big milestone for me was trip number 18 to Chicago when I finally packed a whole week of outfits plus toiletries in a 35-liter backpack. Tbh, the trick was ditching bulky jeans for lightweight joggers and rolling everything instead of folding. Ngl, I still overpack socks sometimes but I'm down to just three pairs now. What number of trips did it take you guys to feel like a pro at this?

Twenty five trips is dedication! I was around trip fifteen when it finally clicked for me.

Honestly, my buddy Mike was the one who figured it out way faster than me. He showed up to a wedding in Nashville with just a tiny duffel bag and I laughed at him until he pulled out three dress shirts that didn't have a single wrinkle. Took him maybe six trips total before he was packing cubes and compression bags like a pro. Ngl, I was still bringing a checked bag to the same wedding and regretted it when we had to sprint through the airport.
