Walked into the new build in Mesa and every closet had the pad stapled upside down
I was doing a measure for a house in Mesa last Thursday and the builder let me peek at the closets before the crew got there. Every single closet in that place had the pad stapled upside down, seams all over the place, no glue at the edges. Either somebody trained wrong or nobody checked the punch list. How do you handle it when you walk into a job and the prep is already done dirty?
Did the super even walk it before you got there? I've had that exact deal in Gilbert, whole upstairs redone because the pad was backwards and they stapled through the face. First thing I do is stop and take pics, then text the super and the flooring guy so it's in writing before I touch anything. If it's already shot, I don't fix it quiet, because the minute you start laying over bad prep you own it. I tell them either it gets torn out and redone or I walk, and I put a line in my bid that says prep has to pass before install. Has the builder owned it yet or are they trying to pin the pad on your crew?
