Used to stretch carpet with a power stretcher every time until I tried the knee kicker on a small bedroom

For years I thought the power stretcher was the only way to go for any job. I even bought a nice one from Home Depot for $350 back in 2018. Then last month I had to do a tiny 8x10 bedroom in a rental house near Dayton. The room was so tight I could barely get the power stretcher set up without hitting walls. I grabbed my old knee kicker out of the truck just to try it, and honestly it worked way better for that space. No gouges on the baseboards, no fighting the pole, and I finished in under an hour. Now I use the knee kicker for any room under 12x12 and save the big rig for open living areas. Has anyone else found themselves switching tools based on room size like that?

Ain't that the truth, I do the same thing now depending on whether my back is feeling up to it.

Same here @zara_perez62, it's like picking the right tool for the job, just like choosing a smaller hammer for a nail in a corner.
