TIL you can use a heat gun to soften old carpet glue instead of scraping for hours
I was in a basement remodel in Oak Park last Thursday, hit a patch of that black 70s adhesive that just would not budge, tried the heat gun on low and it peeled right up like butter, has anyone else found a faster trick for that stuff?

Wait, you're telling me that black 70s adhesive? That stuff is basically super glue from hell. Ive been avoiding basements with that junk, but if a heat gun works that easy, I might actually try it. How low did you set the heat?

Honestly @dakota787, I used to be scared of that stuff too, but I set mine to around 500 degrees and it just peeled right off. Took some elbow grease but way less than I thought.
