Power stretcher vs knee kicker for big rooms, no contest

I used to think I could get away with just a knee kicker on a 20x25 foot living room install last fall. Figured I'd save time not hauling my power stretcher up from the truck. After 3 hours of fighting with wrinkles and having to restretch half the room twice, I finally gave up and got the power stretcher. The difference was night and day, the carpet laid flat in under an hour with way less wear on my back. Now I don't even bother with the knee kicker for anything over 12 feet wide, it's just not worth the hassle. Has anyone else tried cutting corners like that and regretted it?

Man I learned that exact same lesson on a living room that was maybe 15 feet wide, ended up with a wrinkle I couldn't fix and had to redo the whole thing the next day, felt like a real genius.

Felt like a real genius" - tell me about it. Spent 3 hours on a carpet once only to find a giant bubble right in the middle. Had to move the whole couch again.
