My power stretcher was backwards for 2 years, a homeowner spotted it in Boise

I've been installing for about 6 years and always set up my power stretcher with the head facing the wall, flipping it around for long runs. Last month a homeowner watched me work and asked why I was pushing instead of pulling. I checked the manual that night and yeah, I had the grain wrong the whole time. The kicker is my seams were always a bit wavy near the edges, I just blamed the pad. Has anyone else had a tool that you used wrong for way longer than you want to admit?
