I finally had a week where everything went smooth on a carpet job

Last month I did a 2,500 square foot house in Beaverton and I swear every single room lined up perfect. No seams showing on the berber, no wrinkles in the padding, and the power stretcher grabbed like it was made for that subfloor. The homeowner even had the old carpet pulled and the tack strip already down, which never happens. I kept waiting for something to go wrong but it just kept going. Even my helper, who usually messes up at least one cut, nailed every doorway. We finished a day early and got paid in full on the spot. Has anyone else had a job where everything just clicked like that?

Wow, that is the dream job right there. When everything lines up like that you almost get suspicious waiting for the other shoe to drop. My advice is to save that customer's contact info because a job that smooth usually means good people to work for again.

Man, that sounds almost too good to be true. @allen.ruby is right, you gotta hold onto that client like a lifeline. So did the homeowner tip you extra for finishing a day early, or was the smooth sailing its own reward?
