Hit 10,000 square feet of carpet installed this year and I'm kind of shocked

I finally added up all my jobs for the year last night. Ten thousand flat. I've been doing this for maybe 15 years but I never kept a running total before. Most of that was in suburban houses around Portland, with a couple of commercial jobs mixed in. It's a weird number to see on paper because I don't feel like I'm working that fast or pushing that hard. Has anyone else ever sat down and counted their total square footage for a year? I'm curious if that's normal for a solo installer.

That 10,000 sounds impressive until you realize it’s the same number of feet I tripped over on the way to the bathroom this morning." I’ve never run the numbers myself, but I bet half my square footage over the years went to crawling around closets that took longer than the whole living room. Take this with a grain of salt, though, my back is the real counter and it’s giving me a very loud opinion on that number.
